Queen Elizabeth playfully fired one of her trusted staff after she played a prank on her while they were in Australia. At that time, Her Majesty and Prince Philip were on a tour of the country.

In the book “The Other Side of the Coin,” royal author Angela Kelly said that the 93-year-old monarch is such a huge fan of kookaburras and she has always wanted to see one. While the Queen was at an engagement, Kelly saw a toy bird that looked like a kookaburra and she bought it for her boss.

But, instead of giving it to her directly, she decided to place it outside the window to surprise Her Majesty. When the Queen arrived at the place that she was staying in, she noticed that there’s a grey bird outside and thought that it was a kookaburra.

Kelly rushed to the window to open it but the monarch urged her not to for fear that the bird would fly away. The Queen’s designer, then, reached out for the bird and told the monarch that it is dead.

Her Majesty was horrified, but Kelly eventually revealed that she just pranked her. She gave her the toy bird and the Queen still has it on display at the back of the sofa in her private living room in London.

Following Kelly’s prank, the Queen told her that she has been sacked from her work. Her Majesty also told her husband that Kelly managed to trick her, and they all ended up laughing.

“I was laughing uncontrollably as her Majesty turned to His Royal Highness and said ‘Do you know what she has just done to me? Angela has had me!’” Kelly said. Until today, the Queen and Kelly have maintained a very close relationship with each other.

In fact, sources revealed that the Queen visits Kelly in her home on a regular basis. Whenever the two women are in together, they chat and laugh nonstop. Kelly is also the one responsible for Her Majesty’s stunning wardrobe. Her job is to put together the Queen’s attire. Kelly has been working for the Queen since 2002.
