Angela Kelly, who has always stayed true to her humble origins, has climbed through the ranks in the royal household. Today, she is the Queen's Personal Advisor and the curator, who is in charge of the Queen's jewellery, her wardrobe, decoration, and more. To put it plainly, she is a powerful force at court.

In the royal household, Kelly is a formidable force who's earned her nickname "AK47". The Queen has given Kelly her permission to share the specifics of their relationship in her book, which is titled, "The Other Side of the Coin: the Queen, the Dresser and the Wardrobe".

The book gives us a sneak peek into the Queen's fiercely protected personal life: from lifelong dreams to simple quirks such as her love for a bargain.

The Queen's Secret Dream

Of course, the most photographed woman in the world, the Queen always strikes a royal pose. But, Kelly shares that the Queen always wanted her portrait taken in a very relaxed posture. To be more specific, she wanted to be photographed with her hands in her pockets. Since it was considered inappropriate, the Queen mother, along with her advisers, always prevented it from happening.

However, when Kelly was researching for her book related to the Queen's wardrobe, she decided that maybe it was time to make the Queen's dream come true. And, our beloved Queen was also on board.

On the day of the shoot, the photographer, Barry Jeffery, tried directing the shoot. However, the Queen stopped him respectfully and said, "No, Barry, this is how we are going to do it. Just keep the camera rolling".

In her book, Angela Kelly writes that once the Queen took her position in front of the camera, she went on with several poses, putting her hands in her pocket and taking them out. She further adds with disbelief that the Queen was imitating the stance of a professional model and was a natural.

However, the Royal Collection only made use of two pictures from that shoot. Kelly said, "Their opinion was that these more candid photographs would bring the Monarchy down. Why they thought that I have no idea". Well, at least the Queen's dream came true.
