A rapper in Florida found himself murdered outside his apartment complex on Friday after he posted an Instagram story where he challenged his opponents who have beef with him to shoot him outside of his house.

Rollie Bands, a well-known local rapper from Tampa, posted on Instagram a story where he dared his enemies and rivals to challenge him outside of his house as he confronted them regarding their grudges against him, according to 7 News Australia.

“A lot of these n****s know where I live at fr,” his story said at the time. “I sleep in peace. If a n***a want smoke I’m at my crib in 5 mins.”

Bands was promptly shot outside of his home five minutes later, and local emergency services were unable to administer aid or get him to the hospital fast enough for him to survive the incident, the New York Post reported.

The case is still being investigated by the local authorities, although they have yet to indicate whether they have suspects in mind for Bands’ death or a possible motivation for why anyone would want to kill Bands.

“At this time, the shooting does not appear random, as the suspects and victim are possibly known to each other,” the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office said.

Many have reacted to Bands’ sudden death with shock and surprise, although some found dark humor in how he was killed after goading some of his enemies on, according to Yahoo!.

“My heart goes out to rapper Rollie Bands in Tampa that was shot and killed. Regardless, it’s sad,” Twitter user @Boopzfit said.

“Rip to rolliebands BUT YO A** THOUGHT YO OPPS WAS PLAYING HUH … ___now let this be a lesson to y’all rappers who thing you the sh*t,” Twitter user @Hyakkanna said.

Best known for his songs “Struggle,” “Close Ties,” and “Too Easy,” Bands appears to leave behind a daughter whom he said on Instagram is “[the] only person I live for.”
