When Bárbara Mori’s teenage son, Sergio Mayer Mori, began dating 28-year-old Brazilian model Natália Subtil, every one was convinced that the 10-year age gap in the relationship would eventually be the reason behind the couple’s breakup.
To no one’s surprise, Sergio Mayer Mori and Subtil announced they were splitting up two months after moving in together, but the difference in age had nothing to do with the separation.
Last month, Subtil revealed she was expecting a baby and the 18-year-old boy was the father.
When the news broke, Subtil received major backlash. Not only from people following the scandal, but from Sergio Mayer Mori's dad, Sergio Mayer, who publicly declared he would need a DNA test to confirm his son was indeed the father.
During a recent interview with “Un Nuevo Día’s” Ana María Canseco and Rashel Diaz, Subtil discussed her relationship with the minor and addressed all the drama surrounding her pregnancy.
“It was something that surprised me because it didn’t come from Sergio [Mayer Mori],” she said of the press conference father and son gave to the Mexican media to plant doubt about the baby’s father. “This is something new, but I took it very well.”
She continued, “When I first watched it [the press conference], I even cried. I couldn’t believe what I was seeing, but I know it’s not coming from him [Sergio Jr.], so I’m a little more at easy now.”
When the show’s hosts asked how she felt about Sergio senior’s allegations, she replied, “He is a man that doesn’t know me. I respect him very much, but he doesn’t know me. I feel scared when he says this things.”
In a previous interview, Subtil revealed the 18-year-old model and singer knows very well he is going to be a dad.
“Sergio [Mayer Mori] knows very well this is his kid,” she declared. “He even came with me to the doctor when I was seven weeks in, on April 18, and they told him how long we had been pregnant for.”
Subtil told Canseco and Diaz that she has no way of contacting the father of her child because he blocked her from “everywhere.”
