Bárbara Mori is going to be a grandma, sources revealed earlier this month. On May 20, Sergio Mayer Mori offered a press conference at the Sogem Wilberto Cantón Theatre in Mexico City to address the situation and clarify all rumors surrounding his ex-girlfriend’s pregnancy.
“It was very shocking,” the 18-year-old model said of the moment his former lover, 28-year-old Brazilian model Natália Subtil, revealed the news to him. “I wasn’t expecting it but I must admit that the idea has been very exciting to me from the very beginning, to the extent of calling my parents right away to share it with them.”
The teenage crooner, who attended the media gathering with his father Sergio Mayer, agreed to talk about his personal life publicly because he was being severely criticized for walking away from his pregnant girlfriend.
During an interview with Mexican magazine TVnotas, Sergio Jr. disclosed that Subtil’s personality changed after she found out she was expecting a baby, and it came to a point where he couldn’t handle her possessive and controlling ways anymore.
“She started to change a lot. Her mood swings were horrible,” he said. “One day she would tell me she wanted to go back to Brazil, and then she would tell me we were going to raise the baby together, and then she would say she wanted an abortion. If I went out with my friends, she would get upset. She wanted me to stay with her all day, fixing her meals. She wanted a husband. […] It became a very sick situation where she just wanted to control me and I wasn’t going to allow it.”
Earlier this week, the mom-to-be broke silence for the first time to share her opinion about the DNA test Sergio Mayer Sr. is requesting to prove his son is indeed the father of her baby.
“Sergio [Mayer Mori] knows very well this is his kid,” she attested. “He even came with me to the doctor when I was seven weeks in, on April 18, and they told him how long we had been pregnant for.”
Regarding the DNA test, she mentioned, “It’s not Sergio who is asking. I watched the press conference and he never denied this was his child. Someone else [Mayer Sr.] is asking me to do this and I can go ahead and do it, I am very sure about the identity of my baby’s father.”
Subtil declared she doesn’t want money from the Mayer Mori family, and not even the family name. She added she is still very supportive of Sergio’s career and believes he has enough talent to make it big in the music industry.
