With the impending cast crisis SNL fans are wondering how the show will fair next season with a predominantly new cast?
While fans may gasp at the veteran's goodbye announcements, SNL has dealt with a major cast crisis before and has fared well.
According to "Variety", "The prospect of losing at least four prominent cast members before 2013-14 might seem dire, but students of SNL history will note that past mass cast defections tend to be like forest fires: While the damage done is seemingly devastating, it actually has a counter intuitively restorative effect, clearing the way for future growth."
SNL has carried on with fantastic cast turnover in the past so it seems that while these veterans are set to leave before next season, SNL's younger cast will carry on the hilarious show traditions and seamlessly replace missing cast members.
Jay Pharoah has already taken over the Obama character from Fred Armisen, similarly Kate McKinnon has become a great Ellen DeGeneres and even more iconic roles have been replaced, Bobby Moynihan is just as hilarious as Weekend Update's drunk uncle.
