Although the Queen is expected by some people not play favorites, she reportedly does have one among her grandchildren.
Most grandparents will say they do not have favorites, but one or two are bound to conquer their hearts more than others, even though their love is naturally the same for all. Queen Elizabeth is no different.
According to Express UK, the Queen spent considerable time with two of her grandchildren at Balmoral Castle and the bonding they did is making the Queen really fond of them. These two grandchildren are Prince Edward and Sophie Wessex’s children - Lady Louise Windsor and James.
Allegedly, the past weeks really let the personalities of these children shine through and the Queen find their personalities quite adorable. Specifical ly, the kids are described as not just kind, but also talented. Moreover, their love for the Scottish retreat is such a bonus in the eyes of the Queen.
Moreover, the source shared that between the two, Lady Louise is truly becoming the Queen’s favorite. “The Queen loves the fact that Louise and James relish their time at Balmoral, and she has become particularly close to Louise, who seems to have become her favourite grandchild, closely followed by James,” a source shared to The Sun.
Lady Louise will soon turn 16, on November 16 to be exact. It is not surprising though that the Queen loves her, because she really is standing out among the monarch’s eight grandchildren. Unlike the others, she is old enough to spend time with the Queen in a meaningful way. The others are simply too young still. Her patience with Princess Charlotte is also a positive trait for the monarch. Her artistic skills are shining through as well.
The source claimed that Lady Louise really impressed the Queen when the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge spent time at the estate. “Louise also endeared herself to everyone by looking after William and Kate’s children when they were up here,” the source said.
The time she spent with Charlotte was not meaningless play and fun either. She actually got the little princess to draw. “Louise loves drawing and sketching and was very patiently trying to get Charlotte to do pictures of rabbits and deer,” the source explained.
Queen Elizabeth’s fondness for Louise cannot be hidden. She even gave Louise a special treat. “Because of her obvious artistic skill, the Queen allowed Louise to look through some of the collection of Queen Victoria’s Highlands sketches which are kept at Balmoral but are rarely dug out these days,” the source revealed.
