As gamers prepare for the Steam Summer Sale which is reported to officially begin today at 12, some are questioning is it too good to be true? As fans eagerly await the beginning of Valve's gaming sale, they have been in mass preparation for the event. Fans have expressed their desperation for the sale to begin on Twitter, some have even taken to Youtube to express their excitement and devotion to the Steam Summer Sale. Some gamers may have gone to the extreme and extended their credit line to be able to splurge on the sale! And while we applaud everyone's dedication, we are also thinking the Steam Summer Sale may not be that great.
Before you get upset, hear us out! The Steam Summer Sale will absolutely offer some amazing deals on games, but the deals may be so good in fact that gamers are sure to go overboard. Because the deals on games will be so "worthwhile," gamers will be tempted to waste hard-earned money on games that just end up sitting in your Steam library unplayed.
The sale is the Black Friday of games for Valve, but when we go to these crazy sales there are always things you buy JUST because they are so cheap. You realize too late that you already have it, you don't need, and you eally don't even like it. The Steam Summer Sale can prove to be too much for gamers, it's almost over-stimulating to the point of chaos. Everyone just looks at the low prices and says "I'LL TAKE ONE OF EVERYTHING!" Now, if you really think about it you have just bought a huge amount of games, is it possible that will have enough time to play through most or even all of them before you have to see sunlight, leave your basement, and remember some responsibilities?
Eh...probably not. While it may be tempting to jump right in to the Steam Summer Sale and buy upwards of 10 discounted games, think before you click! Because while on the surface it may seem like a big money-saver, it may not be, if you don't have the time to play some of those games, you're just throwing money away.
Now, I certainly hope I didn't kill your Steam Summer Sale buzz, but just remember if you throw all your money away now on games you may not even have time to play. You just have to save that much longer to buy "Grand Theft Auto V" or even the next-gen PS-4. So good luck gamers with the Steam Summer Sale, and may you be able to show some restraint!
