Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) returns in the highly anticipated episode 5 of “Suits” Season 9. A preview video of the next episode has been released online that shows the character picking a friendly fight with his former mentor and boss Harvey (Gabriel Macht).
It has been a long time since the fans saw Mike on the popular legal drama series. A preview video of the next episode shows the character getting hugs and smiles from the others, but that will not last long.
Mike will be going up against Harvey when he returns. Since the two of them are old friends, there won’t be any bitterness in this fight. It will be a fair fight, and the two of them can do anything to win except getting each other disbarred are getting locked up in prison.
Details about the case the two of them will be fighting will only be revealed when the episode airs. Mike is confident that he will be able to teach his mentor how to lose gracefully.
Although Mike’s return in “Suits” Season 9 gives the impression that he never left, the actor playing the role had some concerns about his return. In an interview with TV Line, the actor admitted that he felt nervous when he got on the plane to go film his scenes.
Adams was worried that it has been so long that he has forgotten how to go about it. Being back on the set with familiar faces helped the actor get back into the role.
What does Mike’s return mean for the character? Adams said that Mike is “even less of a puppy than he once was” when he returns. He has been doing things on his own for so long now that he feels he is prepared to take on Harvey, the hotshot lawyer who was previously always a few steps ahead of his friend.
“Suits” Season 9, Episode 5 is titled “If The Shoe Fits.” The show airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on the USA Network.
