Club América will host the UANL Tigres at 9:30pm EST in the Estadio Azul on Tuesday, Oct. 29, where the Tigres will try to take down a club which has looked quite imperious as of late and tops the Liga MX standings with 36 points. The Tigres will try to steal a victory from Club América in the first round of Apertura 2013-2014 action and advance to the playoffs after drawing against the Tijuana on Friday. Tigres coach Ricardo "Tuca" Ferretti knows that his club isn't considered among the favorites to take this year's Apertura, but he has told press that he thinks that once you're in the playoffs, anything can happen, and that his team would naturally it as hard as they could to take the crown. "If we make it to the playoffs, naturally we're not going to be among the favorites, but we have players of recognized ability. While you're at this stage, a lot of things can change, and we can be the team that even without having had a great season gets the title," he said.

Ferretti added that the match against América wouldn't be easy, but that despite having to play without the help of several key players, he thought his club was going to pose a threat to América, who go into Tuesday's game as heavy favorites. "I see a tough game, because of what América represents. It's a team that has demonstrated in one way or another that they've got their stuff well coordinated and can win. I'm not looking forward to an easy game at all, but I have the hope that we might be able to get a good result of it."

Rubens Sambueza, América midfielder of Argentine origin, will be playing his second Liga MX game as a Mexican citizen after receiving his naturalization letter last Friday. It's possible that he might be eligible to join the Mexican national team when they face off against New Zealand in the final qualifier match to see if they get a ticket to Brazil for the 2014 World Cup. Coach Miguel Herrera says he hopes he can count on the midfielder. But Sambueza says he won't be distracted by talk over the Cup. "I'm only thinking of América," he told EFE yesterday. "It's a dream to wear the national uniform, but I don't want to think about it until they authorize me to play." Check out a live stream to the action here when it airs at 9:30 p.m. ET.
