Top Russian Microbiologist Accuses Wuhan Lab Of Modifying Coronavirus, Enabling It To Infect Humans

A Russian professor and scientist has claimed that the Wuhan laboratory scientists did some absolutely “crazy things” to genetically modify coronavirus. The virus was modified to an extent that it became capable of infecting humans.

Professor Peter Chumakov, however, said that the original intent of the Wuhan scientists was only to study the pathogenicity of coronavirus and not to end up producing a man-made killer.

The Wuhan lab in China is known to be working on the study of coronaviruses in bats. However, the Russian scientists said that they have been working on coronaviruses variants for more than 10 years at least under the pretext of HIV vaccine research.

He believes that sooner or later, the picture about the origin of the current coronavirus will become clear nonetheless.

“I think that an investigation will nevertheless be initiated, as a result of which new rules will be developed that regulate the work with the genomes of such dangerous viruses. It’s too early to blame anyone,” Chumakov said.

In another story, the Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison has said that the World Health Organization (WHO) should back the scientific research and investigations on how coronavirus spread from Wuhan to other parts of the world.

“If you’re going to be a member of a club like the World Health Organization, there should be responsibilities and obligations attached to that,” Morrison told the reporters.

Morrison has joined the likes of other world leaders, including President Donald Trump, to support investigations in Wuhan. Trump has already been criticizing the Chinese government for not reporting the COVID-infected cases accurately and for delaying transmission of essential information that may have prevented coronavirus from becoming a pandemic and affecting millions of people around the world.

American epidemiology who have studied the evidence so far believe that it is not certainly an accidental lead from the Wuhan lab as it would have required a series of deviations from the set lab guidelines, which does not seem to be the case.

Further investigations are currently underway to establish the source of coronavirus and the route through which it became a global pandemic.
