Xbox Live loyalists who’ve recently had an upgrade to Gold have multiple reasons to rejoice in October. The Halloween-ish month has two exciting (and must we say outright) horror games lined up for its gamers, cantered around the spooky festival.

Getting down to the details, the first game is titled as “Slayaway Camp: Butcher’s Cut” where one gets to play an antagonist Skullface who gets to freak camp counselors and guests in a volley of isometric puzzles. The game is available all through this month. The next in line is the “Maid of Sker,” a British horror game-themed along the similar lines as “Amnesia” and “Resident Evil 7.” “Maid of Sker” is available between October 16 to November 15.

For those who’re still playing on an Xbox 360, make time to watch platformer “Sphinx” and the “Cursed Mummy” at the start of the month. The second half of the month comprises another interesting offering “Costume Quest”. For users who’re wondering if September hits like “The Book of Unwritten Tales 2” will still be available, the answer is a resounding yes. But, only until October 15.

A recent report suggests that one could also make the most of some great digital game deals this week at the Xbox Store -- “Madden NFL 21” for $42 and “Maneater” for $26.

Xbox Game Pass is likely to add new games to its collection this month. So expect “Doom Eternal” and the like.

For those on the lookout for a roster about the games to expect in October, if one upgrades to Xbox Games With Gold, here’s a lowdown:
