Sen. John Fetterman Addresses Pro-Palestine 'Vandalism' Of His Wife's Store

President Donald Trump praised Democratic Senator John Fetterman after he voiced support for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and condemned calls from within his party to abolish the agency.

"ICE agents are just doing their job and I fully support that," Fetterman told Fox News on Wednesday. "Any calls to abolish ICE are inappropriate and outrageous."

"That people in my party might want to treat them as criminals or anything — that's inappropriate," he added.

When asked about Fetterman's comments, Trump responded, "The new John Fetterman is exactly what you said. He's right, he's right. And we have to protect our police officers, and we will."

Fetterman later told the Daily Mail that the endorsement may have resonated with his family: "It probably made my parents proud. They're big Fox News viewers. My whole family is Republican."

Fetterman doubled down on his position on social media: "ICE performs an important job for our country. Any calls to abolish ICE are inappropriate and outrageous."

The senator also voiced support for granting amnesty to "hardworking, otherwise law-abiding migrant workers," while calling for the deportation of those involved in criminal activity.

Fetterman has distanced himself from the Democratic party regarding the matter. In a June 10 social media post, Fetterman criticized his party's silence in response to violent anti-ICE protests in Los Angeles. "This is anarchy and true chaos," he wrote, posting an image of a burned-out car. "My party loses the moral high ground when we refuse to condemn setting cars on fire, destroying buildings, and assaulting law enforcement."

The White House acknowledged Fetterman's remarks at the moment, with Deputy Chief of Staff Taylor Budowich, calling his comments "a wake-up call for many Democrats," adding that "there is no room for you in the party of Gavin Newsom and Kamala Harris."

Fetterman has also supported aspects of Trump's immigration agenda, including increased border security spending and endorsing Trump's nominee Jeff Bartos for a U.N. position.
