Referring to President Joe Biden’s fall on the steps of Air Force One, former President Donald Trump on Monday said that he "expected it." Trump also added that he believes Biden’s mental state has diminished and that this will open the doors for Vice President Kamala Harris to be the next President.

"I expected it, actually," Trump told host Greg Kelly during an interview with Newsmax, about Biden falling three times while climbing the stairs of Air Force One on Friday.

"When I went down the ramp at West Point, which was like a sheet of ice with no railing, no nothing — great planning — I wanted to go inch by inch because the last thing I want to do is take a tumble like Biden did. Now that tumble was terrible and it wasn’t really one, it was three," Trump said during the interview.

When Trump made a public appearance at his Florida residence on Friday, he took the opportunity to take a dig at Biden’s fall. He said that he did not lose to someone like Biden. "I watch as Joe Biden went up the stairs today and I said ‘I didn’t lose to him,’ which we didn’t lose to him, he said.

During the Monday interview with Newsmax, Trump told Kelly that he believes that the media hasn’t given enough importance to Biden’s fall, adding that the media has lost its freedom of speech.

"That tumble was terrible. It wasn’t really one, it was three, and it wasn’t mentioned for the most part in the lamestream," Trump said. "The whole thing is incredible. There’s no longer freedom of the press."

Donald Trump Jr also took the opportunity to mock Biden. He posted a 10-second long video on Twitter that showed Biden falling on the staircase after he is hit by a golf ball shot at him by Donald Trump. "Wait you’re telling me this is edited???," he tweeted.

During the interview, Trump said that he believes that Biden’s mental state is deteriorating to an extent that he doesn’t understand what he is signing.

"There’s something going on, it’s crazy. What’s happening is crazy and you wonder whether or not all of the things that he’s signing, whether or not he understands what he’s signing, because this is worse than Bernie Sanders at its worst point. We never thought this could happen. Bernie Sanders on steroids wouldn’t be signing what this guy is signing," Trump said.

The statement doesn’t come as a surprise because Trump has been repeating this since the presidential campaign last year. He reminded that the 25th Amendment was brought in so that the Democrats can declare Biden unfit and replace him with Ms. Harris.

"Now, well, a lot of people said when they brought it out because it takes a while to institute and when they brought it out, they said they really need it for Biden, just in case he gets in. So we’ll see," Trump said. "Look, I hope — that’s a very serious thing and I hope that never happens," he added.

Trump told Kelly that he believes this is possible, referring to Biden’s slip last week where he accidentally addressed Ms. Harris as the "President."

During another interview given to a newly launched podcast on Monday, Trump told Lisa Boothe, a Fox News contributor, that he had left a letter "from the heart" to Biden before he left the White House.

"Basically, I wished him luck and it was a couple of pages long and it was from the heart because I want to see him do well," Trump said.
