Looks like Plunder mode will be returning as a multiplayer mode in the coming title "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End," reports IGN.

Previously, Plunder mode was in "Uncharted: Drake's Fortune," "Uncharted 2: Among Thieves" and "Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception." The mode is a variant on Capture the Flag where players can throw the object of interest.

There will be a few changes in the mode from previous games including being able to traverse the environment with the idol. Also instead of being 5 vs 5, Plunder mode is now a 4 vs 4 game type. Naughty Dog assures fans not to worry saying, "the number of mechanics that have been introduced into our multiplayer’s moment-to-moment gameplay" makes up for it.

If you're one of the lucky attendees at PAX East this weekend, you'll be able to play Plunder mode at the PlayStation booth. Gamers will be able to test out the mode on the maps Island, Madagascar City and Rooftops. Check out Plunder mode gameplay footage from "Uncharted 4" multiplayer in the trailer below.

Meanwhile, creative director Neil Druckmann recently stated that the ending to "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" will have fans talking.

"I think people will discuss the ending. If focus tests are anything to go by, there will be some arguments about the ending," Druckmann told IGN during a recent "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" gameplay event. "I'm excited. Indifference would be the worst thing. I would rather have people hate it than be indifferent to it. We'll see how they react."

"Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" will release for the PS4 on May 10, 2016. With the release date just a few weeks away, the PlayStation Store recently added a bunch of "Uncharted" merchandise, plus the "Uncharted" themed PS4 console for pre-orders. See all the merch here.
