The Vampire Diaries
Will Paul Wesley leave "The Vampire Diaries" after season seven? CW/The Vampire Diaries

The current season of "The Vampire Diaries" has been full of goodbyes. Not only did we see Steven R. McQueen take his leave as Jeremy Gilbert but we are also poised to bid farewell to Michael Trevino who plays Tyler Lockwood and surprisingly the shows star Nina Dobrev who plays Elena Gilbert in the coming episodes.

Now, with the season six finale approaching we are curious if the showrunners will pull out all the stops to send these stars off. More specifically we want to know if Elena or Tyler will be killed off? As of now only the shows producer Julie Plec knows how it will all go down and while she is keeping silent she is encouraging fans to guess what will happen. In an interview with Entertianment Weekly Plec challenged the fandom to guess how Elena will exit "The Vampire Diaries" and even offered a reward for whoever guessed right.

"If by some miracle someone in this section is actually right. I will personally take them to lunch—or a Skype cocktail hour—to talk about being a writer because clearly they should be one," Plec said.

We are also curious to know if Jeremy will make a return to the series to say goodbye to his on-screen sister? It is doable as the character wasn't killed off and left Mystic Falls for "art school," although he's really just out vampire hunting.

TV Line recently spoke with executive producer Caroline Dries about the possibility of Jeremy's return to which she said we "certainly may" see or hear from him before the series is over. So although that isn't exactly confirmation it does show that there is hope.

Meanwhile through all the sadness there will be something worth celebrating in the season finale. Wetpaint reports that Jo (Jodi Lyn O'Keefe) and Alaric Saltzman (Matt Davis), who are expecting their first child, are also getting married! We have both Trevino and Dobrev to thank for the news. The two shared photos via Instagram which confirmed that the couple will be tying the knot. Trevino's photo was of a sign that read "J&A Ceremony" and pointed to a location, while Dobrev's pic was of the actual ceremony.

"The Vampire Diaries" airs Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
