In 2015, The Weeknd crooned and swooned his way into everybody’s hearts with his magnum opus, Beauty Behind the Madness. Now, it appears that Abel is ready to present the world with his follow-up endeavor to his critically-acclaimed album.

Early Wednesday morning (Sept. 21), The Weeknd went on social media to reveal the news of his upcoming album, Starboy. Despite not providing a release date for his new project, he managed to show love and handed us the cover art to go alongside his album title.

Shot by Nabil, the cover art for Starboy conveys a stark image of The Weeknd behind a red background. In addition, we’re sure fans will gasp at the fact that he elected to cut off his signature dreadlocks. Now, he’s donning low haircut, symbolic of the change he’ll be presenting us on his new album. While the details remain minimal regarding Starboy, there were rumors that he and Daft Punk were in the studio gearing up for a new collaboration. Whether that track will see the light of day remains to be seen.

Earlier this week, The Weeknd cleared his Instagram account. While many pondered as to why, it's clearly evident that he was preparing to surprise the world with this bombshell. We’re sure fans can’t wait to see what Abel has in stores. Last year, Beauty Behind the Madness dominated Billboard its opening week, by selling a resounding 415,000 copies. In addition to that, every song in his album charted at the same time.

It looks like Abel season is definitely upon us.
