Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani’s wedding plans are currently on hold because of Stefani’s previous marriage to Gavin Rossdale. Meanwhile, rumor on Stefani giving up on trying to conceive after the couple spent millions on in vitro fertilization (IVF) was proved to be false.

“The Voice” judge Blake Shelton and “No Doubt” vocalist Gwen Stefani have expressed their plan on leveling up their relationship through marriage. Stefani, however, wants not just any wedding but dreams of a formal Catholic Church wedding with Shelton. Shelton, who was divorced from ex-wife Miranda Lambert in 2015, wholly supports and respects Stefani’s religious view on marriage.

In fact, the couple already consulted with a priest for a counseling session. The wedding plans, however, are currently on hold because of one reason. This one thing that’s barring the two from saying “I do” is Stefani’s marriage to ex-husband Gavin Rossdale.

Stefani and Rossdale divorced in 2015, allegedly over Rossdale’s affair with a nanny. For Shelton and Stefani’s church wedding to push through, the “Don’t Speak” singer has to have her marriage to Rossdale annulled by the Catholic Church so that her marriage with Shelton can be recognized by the church.

Aside from formalizing their wedding, the couple is also reportedly attempting to conceive a baby girl through IVF. News claimed that Shelton and Stefani have been trying several times and had spent millions for IVF, unfortunately to no avail. This news, however, is clearly untrue, as confirmed by Stefani's spokesperson to Gossip Cop.

As early as 2016, a year after the divorce, Shelton and Stefani have been rumored to have moved in together after Shelton’s proposal to Stefani. The pop rock singer quickly denied the rumors, stating that it was too early for a move in and a proposal. In late 2017, news broke about Shelton and Stefani checking in a hospital for their secret baby’s checkup.

Shelton and Stefani met as coaches slash judges in “The Voice.” The two got romantically involved shortly after their divorces from their respective spouses in 2015. Shelton admitted he thought the relationship was sort of a rebound from their divorce.
