Royal families across Europe have their own ways and favorite places to spend Easter. Here’s a quick look at some of the most famous royals on earth and how they spent the weekend.

The British Royal Family

The British royal family had a rare double celebration on Sunday. Aside from their usual Easter Sunday tradition, the family also celebrated Queen Elizabeth II’s 93rd birthday at the same time.

As usual, the family attended Easter Sunday service at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle. After the service, the Queen greeted well-wishers who gathered outside the chapel, who also sang “Happy Birthday” to the monarch.

The Queen’s birthday party, however, is exclusive for family and close friends. The family joined Her Majesty for lunch at home.

A notable absence during the festivities is the newest addition to the royal family, Meghan, Duchess of Sussex. However, she was not expected to come for the celebrations because she is expected to give birth any day now.

But Meghan Markle was still able to send her birthday greetings to her royal grandmother-in-law in the most modern way possible — via an Instagram post using Harry and Meghan’s newly created account. “Happy Birthday Your Majesty, Ma’am, Granny. Wishing you the most wonderful day! Harry & Meghan,” the Sussexes caption a gallery of photos of the birthday celebrant.

The Spanish Royal Family

Meanwhile, their counterparts in Spain spent Easter break the way they usually do each year. Spain’s royal family, which includes King Felipe, Queen Letizia, Princess Leonor and Infanta Sofia, headed to Majorca for the weekend.

They were spotted attending church service at the Cathedral of Palma. After the mass, they greeted fans and well-wishers outside the church.

The Royal Family Of Sweden

A few members of Sweden’s royal family used social media to update their fans on their Easter activities. For instance, Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden posted on Instagram photos of her kids, seven-year-old Princess Estelle of Sweden and three-year-old Prince Oscar. The photos were taken in Öland.

Meanwhile, younger sister Princess Madeleine of Sweden opted for a more laid-back way to spend Easter. The royal shared some photos on Instagram showing her children, Princess Leonore, Prince Nicolas and Princess Adrienne. The family seems to be enjoying the sun and the beach, which were likely taken near their Miami home.

The Monaco Royal Family

Meanwhile, Prince Albert II of Monaco and wife Princess Charlene probably gave in to their children’s wishes. The monarch posted some photos on Facebook showing the royal couple, along with their children, Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella, enjoying what Disneyland Paris has to offer.

“First discovery of Disneyland by the princely children, Jacques and Gabriella, and moments of joy, as for so many others of their age, with the attractions and characters of this fairy world,” the caption reads. “Our thoughts were directed to Notre-Dame De Paris during this private family stay.”

The Greek Royal Family

The Greeks really know how to enjoy life. Crown Prince Pavlos, along with his wife, Crown Princess Marie-Chantal, and 18-year-old son Prince Achileas-Andreas, enjoyed the holiday in the sunny Bahamas.
