Lady Gaga Gives Tearful Oscars Acceptance Speech: 'It's About Not Giving Up' A Star Is Born/Facebook

Lady Gaga had to keep people away from Bradley Cooper while they were doing “A Star Is Born.” In an interview, the female singer revealed how she acted like a “gatekeeper” because she wanted Cooper to find his own sound while they were making the soundtrack for the film.

According to Lady Gaga, making sure nobody was there to influence Cooper’s musical voice was one of her most important jobs as his costar. After doing the project together, Lady Gaga and Cooper were happy that Cooper was able to achieve the deep baritone that people loved most about the film’s music.

Gaga and Cooper didn’t only costar in “A Star Is Born.” They also collaborated in most of its soundtrack. The female singer admitted that even when it comes to writing the songs for the film, the process was a collaborative effort between her and Cooper.

Lady Gaga also revealed that there was a group of songwriters who stood behind her throughout the process. And she loved how she was able to incorporate as many opinions as possible while writing the songs for the film.

She also said that she was personally influenced by Ally’s music after she collaborated with Jackson Maine. Gaga played Ally in the film, while Cooper portrayed Jackson.

In the film, Ally was a struggling artist who crossed paths with seasoned musician Jackson. She had just given up on her dream to make it big as a singer when Jackson came into her life and coaxed her into the spotlight. As they made music together, Ally and Jackson fell in love.

Romance rumors about Lady Gaga and Cooper started after they starred together in “A Star Is Born.” And following their intimate performance of “Shallow” at the 2019 Oscars, fans hoped that they were in love in real life. Gaga, however, maintained that they’re just friends and that there was no off-screen romance between them at all.

“Yeah, people saw love, and guess what? That’s what we wanted you to see,” said Lady Gaga. “I mean, this is a love song, ‘Shallow.’ The movie, ‘A Star Is Born,’ it’s a love story. We worked so hard. We worked all week on that performance,” she added.
