Prince William and Kate Middleton were previously reported to have broken up and to be headed for divorce. It was alleged that the second in line to the British throne cheated on his wife and so the couple has called it quits. The media also named the third party involved, and it’s Rose Hanbury who was accused of having an extramarital affair with the Duke of Cambridge.

At the height of the divorce rumors, Kate was said to have gone back to her parents’ home in Bucklebury, Berkshire, with her kids. However, it turned out that even if the breakup rumors about the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were true, the couple can’t file for divorce as Queen Elizabeth won’t allow it.

It was said that before Prince William proposed to Kate in 2010, the Queen already warned her grandson that he cannot separate from his wife once married, so he needs to think carefully before proposing. This is because the Queen had enough of the royal divorce scandals and vowed that such a situation will never happen again as long as she’s seated on the throne.

According to Express, a source revealed that Queen Elizabeth advised Prince William to choose his partner wisely because she doesn’t want another divorce in the family. She saw the great damage to the monarchy brought about by the controversial divorces of her children — Prince Charles and Princess Diana, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, and Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips. Her goal was thus to put an end to divorces within the royal family and keep the family intact and harmonious.

"The Queen is the head of the Church and so from a point of principle she is opposed to royal divorces,” a Palace aide was quoted as saying. “However, she has witnessed the divorces not just of her sister Princess Margaret but also those of her three eldest children and she now feels, to put it bluntly, that enough is enough.”

The aide further said that the Queen is firm with her decision that there will be no more royal divorces during her reign, and this is why Prince William and Kate are banned from breaking up their marriage even if they want to. But the split may never actually happen because the duke and duchess’s divorce and cheating rumors were already debunked. In reality, the couple has a great relationship as husband and wife, and their bond is evident from their social media photos.
