Why You Don't See Eva Mendes These Days

Eva Mendes is one of the most beautiful and successful Latina actresses in Hollywood. With her looks and acting skills, she starred in several blockbuster films such as “Hitch” and “Ghost Rider.”

Mendes is also one of the most recognizable faces in the industry, which is not a surprise given her numerous films. She starred in four films in 2002, which include “2 Fast 2 Furious,” “Once Upon A Time In Mexico,” “Out Of Time” and “Stuck On You,” a feat that was repeated in 2007.

Her exposure back then is a stark contrast to her lack of visibility these days. Her last film project was five years ago, in the 2014 film “Lost River,” which even sparked speculations that she might be planning to retire from acting for good.

But according to Today, Mendes has not confirmed whether she’ll be returning to acting at the moment. The actress did reveal, however, why she hasn’t tackled any acting projects in recent years.

“I'm just so obsessed with my kids that I don't want to leave them," Mendes told E! News. “They're just still so little,” the actress added when she explained why she has no movies yet.

Mendes has two children with Ryan Gosling, whom she started dating in 2011. They are proud parents of two daughters, 4-year-old Esmeralda and 3-year-old Amada.

Mendes also revealed that her daughters are also the reason why fans seldom see her appearing in public with Gosling in Hollywood events. “What people don’t know about me is that I love being home,” the actress told. “Instead of hitting the red carpet, I’d rather be with our girls.”

With her dedication to her young kids, it’s hard to imagine that Mendes used to be the type of girl who did not want kids. But that all changed when she met Gosling.

“I was never one of those women who really wanted children, and then I fell in love with Ryan,” Mendes said on “The Talk.” “I was like, ‘Oh I get it. I don't want children, I want your children. I want your babies.’”
