A 34-year-old man reportedly beat up his wife after the woman was allegedly having sexual acts with another man in her car during a video call in Pennsylvania on Tuesday, Sept. 29.

The man was identified as William Atkinson who reportedly assaulted his wife with an open hand. But aside from that, witnesses claim that the 34-year-old also kicked her in the face.

According to WBTW, the incident happened at a parking lot on Tuesday in Somerset County. A domestic assault was reported with shots allegedly being fired.

Atkinson was said to be in a video call with his wife at that time. The woman was reportedly having sex with an unidentified man. A friend allegedly drove the 34-year-old to the location. When they got there, the man ran away, leaving the wife at his husband’s mercy.

Per the probable cause affidavit, the wife was allegedly egging the husband while she had sex with the unknown man.

Atkinson admitted to striking his wife but with an open hand and not a closed fist. The woman was found bleeding heavily in the face, nose and mouth. She also had severe bruising all over her face.

Police said the woman “was in a state of extreme excitement and distress,” and officers did not obtain a statement from her.

A pistol was found in the car that Atkinson rode on the way to the parking lot. However, police reportedly didn’t find a magazine or rounds with the firearm.

Aside from the pistol, also found was a stun gun and a pocket knife. Atkinson claimed that these belonged to his wife.

Atkinson is currently held at the Somerset County Prison with bail set at $30,000. He was arraigned on aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person's charges.

Atkinson’s preliminary hearing was scheduled last Sept. 28.
