The news was the most commented on Facebook, particularly when Neymar's goal that tied the game after an embarrassing own goal. The second was the controversial penalty that allowed Neymar to score the second goal, putting the team ahead of Croatia.

With 16 million posts, Brazil was the most active country on Facebook, followed by the United States and England. "That number represents more than 20 times the capacity of all stages of the World Cup," the company said in a statement.
