The highly anticipated 2014 World Cup is less than a year away and as multiple teams around the globe continue their qualifying schedules, FIFA is preparing the sale of tickets for each match to be played at the Brazil games.

Top ticket prices will hit the $990 mark while the cheapest tickets will sell for as little as $15. Those $15 tickets will be available to Brazilian students, Brazilians over the age of 60 as well as members of certain social groups, according to FOX Sports.

With Brazil serving as the host nation in 2014, residents of Brazil will have nearly 400,000 discounted tickets at their disposal, a significant amount since over 3 million tickets for the event will be produced.

"Those prices are extremely competitive," FIFA marketing director Thierry Weil said to ESPN FC recently. "So you have a huge range, for sure. I hope that FIFA has been reasonable when it comes to prices."

Ticket prices for international fans will start at $220 for the June 12th opening match in Sao Paola with the top price for inaugural match tickets hitting nearly $500. For each additional match throughout the 47 group stages, FIFA indicates that seats will cost $90 in the Category 3 band and $175 in Category 1.

The championship contest is slated for July 13th, 2014 and those international fans who want to be in attendance for the tournament finale will spend anywhere from $440 to $990 per ticket.

Global sales for the World Cup games begin on August 20th, with the first sales phase coming to a close on October 10th. A second sales stage will open on December 8th after the field of 32 teams is announced, with a maximum of 4 seats available per buyer.
