It's Mother's Day in México today as it is May 10. Día De La Madre in the North American country is on a fixed date, unlike in the U.S. where it is the second Sunday in May. Denise De Kalafe has become an icon of this celebration due to her hit song "Señora Señora." The Brazilian singer reached international fame following her win at the OTI Festival in 1978. It was in 1982 when she released this song dedicated to moms that is still popular and played every Mother's Day. "To you I dedicate my verses," Kalafe sings. "My being and my victories, to you all my respect señora, señora, señora." The song ends with Denise de Kalafe singing: "This woman that I talk about, is beautiful, my friendly seagull, her name is MY MOTHER." Listen to the song below and tell us what you think!

Twitter users have been having a day on the eve of Mother's Day in México. Social media goers have been tweeting and poking fun at the singer that pops up every year. "At these moments they are unfreezing Denise De Kalafe so she can sing 'Señora, Señora,'" one user wrote. That same user followed up that tweet with the following quip: "If Denise De Kalafe charged every time a kinder or primary school school in Mexico for using her only song every May 10 she would be a [Carlos] Slim." Another user posed the following question: "Has anyone ever wonder what Denise De Kalafe does the rest of the year?"

The funny tweets did not stop there as another tweet read: "Seriously, what does Denise De Kalafe do when people scream 'encore, encore, encore." The latter message is referring to no other De Kalafe songs reaching the popularity "Señora, "Señora" had. The Brazilian singer was tied to the Belinda controversy when the aforementioned seemingly did not want to perform a song she used to sing as a child called "El Baile Del Sapito." It was all part of Belinda's act as she has repeated done the same bit in other concerts.
