A 15-year-old in Mesquite has been detained in connection with the death of a man who was shot multiple times.

The identities of the boy and the victim were not revealed as of this writing.

According to The Dallas Morning News, Mesquite police were called to the 1800 block of North Galloway Avenue at around 1:40 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18. A man was found to have been shot multiple times and was later taken to a hospital.

The male victim eventually succumbed due to injuries.

It appears the 15-year-old has been implicated in the crime that stemmed from a robbery in a strip-center shopping mall. If found guilty, the unnamed juvenile could face a capital murder charge.

In Texas, those under 17 accused of crimes are tried in juvenile court. But those 14 and older can be tried as an adult if a juvenile court judge signs off after a hearing.

An investigation on the matter is currently ongoing but police are seeking any information that could help in the case. Those with any leads are encouraged to call the Mesquite police at 972-285-6336 or Investigator M. Heidelberg at 972-216-6290.

In related news, Dallas police arrested four individuals who allegedly murdered a 60-year-old at the Park Lane Costco last Nov. 16.

Arrested in connection with the death of Ali Elbanna were James Levels (17), Janiya Miller (17) and Jacoby Tatum (19).

Levels was charged with capital murder. Miller was charged with two counts of aggravated robbery in addition to capital murder. Tatum was also charged with capital murder. Bond for all three suspects was set at $500,000.

Another juvenile was also arrested but his identity will reportedly be not released, CBS Local reported.

Further, police reveal that the suspects also admitted to at least two other robberies before killing Elbanna. Levels admitted that the gun used was his.

It was the other robbery cases that helped police track down the suspects, NBCFDW reported.
