Leonardo DiCaprio’s Instagram page is now being bombarded with comments from Russian trolls. Last week, Lady Gaga faced the same predicament after the same group of trolls flooded her Instagram page with nasty comments, urging her to “return” Irina Shayk, a Russian, to her alleged secret beau, Bradley Cooper.

Earlier this week, the Russian-speaking Instagram users have slowly stormed away from Lady Gagas Instagram to invade DiCaprio’s and urge him to do something about the Lake Baikal issue in Russia. After realizing that their move to invade celebrities’ Instagram pages could actually make headlines, the Russian trolls have reportedly decided to continue doing the same stunt to raise global awareness on serious issues concerning Russians.

The sudden influx of Russian netizens into DiCaprio’s Instagram reportedly kicked off on Sunday after one Russian social media user commented on Lady Gaga’s Instagram, saying it was funny that their stunt had actually turned into something the whole world learned about. The same user suggested that they could do similar stunts in the future to raise awareness about certain issues.

The comment triggered the group of trolls to make DiCaprio, who is partly of Russian descent, their next target. While the trolls invaded Lady Gaga’s Instagram because of her alleged involvement in the Shayk-Cooper split, they are now invading DiCaprio’s Instagram to get the actor to help deal with environmental issues in Russia, particularly Lake Baikal. The Russian trolls want the Lake Baikal issue to be a global concern, hence the use of #savebaikal in their comments.

“Leo!! All of Russia and Ukrine, along with the entire former USSR, plead you to save our Baikal,” one user commented. “There’s Russian spirit, you’re ¼ Russian — just like the Queen of England, but we won’t ask her for help!” another user commented.

Other trolls also urged the Oscar winner to go visit Russia so he could see for himself the logging activities going on around Baikal. “Come here and take a picture!” commented another user.

DiCaprio has yet to comment on the invasion of Russian trolls on his Instagram page. It also remains unknown if the trolls will succeed in getting him to act to save Baikal.
