Angelina Jolie made it back to the headlines after having created her own YouTube channel. The A-list celebrity has been popping in and out of the news due to her divorce from her now ex-husband Brad Pitt. But as of late, Jolie is being surrounded by a much more peculiar rumor, which involves her running for office in next year’s presidential elections.

The speculations of the “Maleficent: Mistresses Of Evil” actress eyeing the presidency has been a recurring story for a couple of years now. Jolie is known for her humanitarian and activist approach, even serving as special envoy for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) since 2012. This has fans thinking that she would be a great option for taking on the highest position in the country.

Jolie’s creation of a YouTube channel earlier this month furthers the theory that the actress will be seen on the list of possible presidential candidates. Her channel focuses solely on her humanitarian efforts and has already gained a steady stream of subscribers.

“In her expanded role, Jolie focuses on major crises that result in mass population displacements, undertaking advocacy and representing UNHCR and the High Commissioner at the diplomatic level,” reads the channel’s description. “She also engages with decision-makers on global displacement issues. Through this work, she has helped contribute to the vital process of finding solutions for people forced to flee their homes.”

Her channel currently has two posted videos, both of which feature Jolie giving keynote addresses. The first video, which was posted a week ago, is her speech at the 2019 General Assembly Ministerial Meeting in the U.S. This is when she spoke of peace and safety, as well as empowered women to act for peacekeeping ventures.

Meanwhile, the other video shows her at Hollywood Reporter’s 2017 Women in Entertainment Breakfast, where she spoke of the powerful role of artists and their influence on the community. These hint at her strong determination to change the world, giving fans the feeling that this may be her first step to the presidency.

In an interview last year, Jolie herself hinted that she hasn’t ruled out the possibility of running for president. “Honestly, if you asked me 20 years ago, I would’ve laughed,” answered Jolie about going into politics.

“I really don’t know, I always say I’ll go where I’m needed. I don’t know if I’m fit for politics, but then I’ve also joked that I don’t know if I have a skeleton left in my closet, so I’m pretty open and out there,” she added.
