AllThingsD reported over the weekend that Apple would be holding an iPhone focused media event September 10 to introduce its next-generation iPhone 5S and perhaps even the low-cost plastic iPhone or "iPhone 5C."

MacRumors reports that the tech site has an excellent track record and also say there is a confirmation for the event.
"AllThingsD has an excellent track record with such reports, suggesting that the event will indeed take place on that date, but in case there was any doubt, The Loop's Jim Dalrymple is now confirming the report with a simple "Yep" post."
Dalrymple is well connected with Apple and has on many occasion confirmed or refuted reports and rumors in simple one-word posts with 100 percent accuracy. It is often said such reports are directly coming from Apple, but delivered through an unofficial channel.

Official media invitations for the introduction should appear roughly a week before the event.
If this presentation turns out to be true Apple should be unveiling two new iPhones, the iPhone 5S and 5C. The 5S will very similar to the current generation iPhone and come with an upgraded camera and total redesign inside the device. It is also said that the new iPhone will have a better home button and fingerprint sensor and come in three color options.
The iPhone 5C is expected to have a plastic outer shell and tote most of the features the iPhone 5S will have.
