A dead villain will be back in “Arrow” Season 8. Lead cast member Stephen Amell, who will be reprising his role as Oliver Queen, teased some details about the villain during a recent interaction with the fans.

Dead characters have a way of coming back on the popular CW TV series. Speaking at the Fan Expo Boston 2019 event, Amell revealed that John Barrowman will be reprising his role as the Dark Archer in Season 8.

The fan question was about Amell celebrating Barrowman’s 50th birthday, which the Oliver Queen star celebrated by taking a birthday cake to the veteran actor, and wearing only a bathing suit while doing it. The fan wanted to know if the actor would do it again for Barrowman’s 60th birthday.

Amell joked about getting Barrowman a birthday cake while dressed in a bathing suit every 10 years. However, on a more serious note, the actor confirmed that the veteran actor is back in “Arrow” Season 8.

The Dark Archer was a big character in the first season of the show. The character’s alter ego is Malcolm Merlyn, who is the father of Oliver Queen’s friend Tommy Merlyn. The villain was killed in Season 5 after years of rivalry with Amell’s character.

The Dark Archer may not be brought back to life, but he may return in the form of a flashback or a dream sequence. The fans will have to wait and watch the show to find out for sure.

“Arrow” Season 8 will end the popular TV series. In a message to the fans on Twitter, Amell thanked everyone for the interaction in Boston, which the actor said was his last chance to talk to the fans about the popular character. The show will premiere on Oct. 15 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
