The big upcoming crossover event at CW will have a long-term impact on “The Flash” Season 6. The whole arc of this year’s story will be based around the “Crisis On Infinite Earths,” and the impact of this event will be felt even after the crossover.

Showrunner Eric Wallace told Newsarama in a recent interview that the plot of the TV series this year is not separate from the “Crisis” crossover. The first few episodes will build towards the event, and the fans will begin to understand why the new villain was chosen by the time they get to episode 5.

There will be two major villains on the show. The villain that will be introduced in the first few episodes of the next season will have a connection to the one seen in the “Crisis” crossover. Wallace explained that the two are actually related.

The events on the show also seamlessly connect to the crossover. “They are all interrelated,” the showrunner said about the events in “The Flash” Season 6 and the “Crisis On Infinite Earths.”

The villain of the TV series this year was chosen specifically because of the “Crisis” event, according to Wallace. The showrunner teased that “dread” and “sorrow” hangs over Team Flash this year, and the impact of the crossover will apparently continue to build and affect the team even after the event.

The first villain that the fans are going to encounter on the show is Bloodwork, Screen Rant reported. The main villain of “Crisis On Infinite Earths” has been revealed to be the Anti-Monitor (LaMonica Garrett).

“The Flash” Season 6 will premiere on October 8 on The CW. The “Crisis On Infinite Earths” will happen over five episodes of different superheroes. The crossover starts this December and will end on January 2020.
