Tension within the team is something that is expected to play out in “Arrow” Season 8. While the show has hinted at the reason for this already, a deleted scene makes it clear why there is so much suspicion.

One aspect of the show in Season 7 was Connor Hawke’s (Joseph David-Jones) initial distrust towards Dinah (Juliana Harkavy) and Future Roy (Colton Haynes). A deleted scene that has been released to Entertainment Weekly reveals the reason for that distrust.

In the episode “Star City Slayer,” Dinah and Roy ask Connor why he tied them up when he knew who they were. The deleted scene reveals that the character doesn’t actually know them.

“You people are just names to me. People my father used to work with,” Connor says in the deleted scene. His concern is that Dinah and Roy may have changed over time.

Connor also hinted at how things will turn out in the future. Apparently, he isn’t the only one with trust issues. He teased that Future Diggle (David Ramsey) may be even more distrustful of the heroes. “Be happy that you were here with me and not with him,” Connor says about Future Diggle.

How does this affect “Arrow” Season 8? The plot of the show is expected to tackle the Diggle family dynamics, and the fans know how Future Diggle will be like. The fans will get to see the adult John “J.J.” Diggle Jr. (Charlie Barnett) as the leader of Deathstroke Gang after he and the rest of the family have a falling out. Showrunner Beth Schwartz previously teased that there will be “a bit of sibling rivalry” on the show in the future story line.

The TV series ends with the next season. A trailer of the show teased that the plot will be about Oliver Queen’s (Stephen Amell) destiny and his legacy.

“Arrow” Season 8 airs on October 15 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.
