Atlético Madrid was crowned champions of the Liga BBVA 2013-2014. It was a historically even match throughout, a game a person with heart conditions could not have survived. But in the end Atlético Madrid reigned supreme.
The game was played against Barcelona at Camp Nou. The game ended in a 1-1 draw. After the draw, Atlético finished with 89 points and Barcelona with 87.
Barcelona was so close to victory and had the championship in their hands but lost the lead because of a defensive error. Alexis Sánchez for Barcelona at the 34 minute mark but Godin ended up scoring and tied the game in the first half, and gave Atlético the win.
Passion and nerves dominated the atmosphere. Tension and responsibility took over for both teams during a great, well fought out battle. In the end, the team with the most heart today won, and that was Atlético Madrid.
