Blackberry fans rejoice, the popular Blackberry messaging app, or BBM, is headed to iOS and Android Devices as announced at last months Blackberry Live 2013 event.

The Canadian smartphone maker is trying to popularize the BlackBerry services among iOS and Android users by making it cross platform-messaging app. And it has just slipped that the BBM app will be available in about a weeks time.

Using its official Twitter account, T-Mobile UK has spilled the beans on when BlackBerry Messenger is coming to iOS and Android: Thursday 27 June.

T-Mobile abruptly removed its original tweet on Thursday. BlackBerry has since provided an official statement to Pocket-lint on the matter:

"While there have been reports that BBM will be available to iOS and Android on June 27th, this is not accurate. We will communicate an update as soon as we have an availability date to share."

The new version of BBM will support the new BBM Channel feature. BBM Channel is a new social engagement platform, which allows big brands, celebrities, and companies to interact with BBM users in a whole new way.

In the first version of multi-platform BBM, iOS and Android users are expected to be able to experience the following BBM features:

The immediacy of BBM chats

Multi-person chats

Voice note sharing

BlackBerry Groups, where BBM users are able to set up groups of up to 30 people and share calendar, photos, files and more

BBM have more than 60 Million active users. BlackBerry plans to add support for BBM Channels as well as voice and video chatting for iOS and Android later this year.

According to rumors BBM will run only on iPhone 4, 4S, and iPhone 5 with iOS 6 and Android 4.0 ICS, Android Jelly Bean 4.1 and 4.2 users will be able to download the BBM.
