Marco Antonio Solis kicked off his trajectory in 1965 ---at the age of 6--- when he was part of Los Hermanitos Solis with one of his cousins. In the mid-'70s, Solis formed Los Bukis, which gained instant success in Latin America and the U.S. The rest, as they say, is history. In honor of his 50 plus years in the industry, the Mexican single will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2016 Billboard Latin Music Awards.

The 56-year-old international star is recognized for his outstanding career, which includes multiple Latin Grammy wins, No. 1 hits on the Billboard Charts, more than 300 songs recorded, and over 20 albums released. In addition to his special recognition, the "Si No Te Hubieras Ido" singer is a finalist at the star-studded ceremony for Latin Pop Albums, Artist of the Year, Solo against Juan Gabriel, Ricky Martin and Selena Quintanilla.

The 2016 Billboard Latin Music Awards will air at 8 p.m. ET on April 28 via Telemundo.
