Pete Davidson, the celebrity comedian whose visibility and status as a tabloid fixture has risen since his debut on "Saturday Night Live," will be one of the six paying customers to be sent to space on a Blue Origin mission.

Davidson, who is probably best-known right now as Kim Kardashian’s boyfriend, was seen in Jeff Bezos’ Los Angeles compound beforehand negotiating the deal to let him fly into space in one of Blue Origin’s rockets, the New York Post reported.

“Pete is excited,” a source said at the time. “They haven’t signed a contract yet, but it looks like it’s going to happen.”

Among the other five passengers to go on space in the trip are former CEO Marty Allen, SpaceKids Global founder Sharon Hagle and her husband Marc Hagle, businessman Jim Kitchen, and Commercial Space Technologies founder George Nield, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

It is unclear as to how much Davidson and the other individuals participating on the flight paid for to be allowed to go on the low-Earth orbit flight that they are in.

The flight will be the fourth manned mission under the New Shepard program of Blue Origin, and the fourth that contains passengers going up to space. Among the other previous celebrities who partook on the previous flights are William Shatner and anchorman Michael Strahan.

Bezos, who had ridden on the first Blue Origin flight that was open to passengers, will not be riding on this upcoming flight. The flight will be live-streamed, and Davidson and the other passengers will be carrying a postcard with them to space.

“Each astronaut onboard NS-20 will carry a postcard to space on behalf of Blue Origin’s foundation, Club for the Future, whose Postcards to Space program gives students access to space on Blue Origin’s rockets,” Blue Origin said in a statement.
