New photos of RIM's BlackBerry 10 have leaked ahead the handset's Jan. 30 release, Business Insider reports.
Initially discovered by tech site Creckberry, the first photo to emerge of the new smartphone reveals the new device's keyboard from the N-Series and shows someone holding the BB10 in their hand with a BlackBerry logo at the top of the handset.
Pictures of the touch-screen version of the BB10 have also already leaked to the public ahead of the smartphone's release. Website Engadget reported the leak earlier in the month with numerous pictures of the device. According to the site, someone in Vietnam apparently somehow obtained photos of the device by RIM.
When the BlackBerry 10 is eventually released on Jan. 30 the phone will reportedly be available in two models, the X10 and Z10, according to BGR. The Z10, also known as the L-series, features a touch-screen keyboard, removable back cover, NFC antenna, micro-SIM and microSD slots, and a removable 1,800mAh battery. The model also has USB and micro-HDMI ports on the left-hand side of the smartphone, giving it extra ability to hook up with other devices and accessories.
The X10 model opts for a more traditional design using the old school QWERTY style keyboard. The phone will reportedly be available in both black and white, and rumors indicate the phone will feature a 4.2-inch screen with 1280x768 resolution.
The BlackBerry 10 includes a feature called Balance, which encrypts work data and separates content, and a feature called Flow that's a suite of new gesture controls.
Further information regarding the specs and features of the new BlackBerry 10 handset are still scarce and vague. However, if the release of RIM's new smartphone is anything like the product releases we've already seen this year for devices like the iPhone 5 or Samsung Galaxy SIII we'd bet heavily on more leaks of information and pictures in the coming weeks.
