Bogie The Biker Dog Making Sure Master Is Always In Good Company

Dogs are man’s best friend and this is probably what best describes the relationship that Filipino Gilbert Delos Reyes has with his dog, Bogie. The 11-year-old crossbreed has gained worldwide attention, particularly because he is perhaps the only dog that has a full wardrobe and riding with his master roads of Cavite province in the Philippines.

The 11-year-old canine could pass as a member of a biker gang with his practically complete outfit. He has become a constant companion for Reyes who took in the crossbreed when he was just a month old for a cheap $2, Reuters reported.

In what likely started as Gilbert wanting a pet or companion, their bond has blossomed into something special. He treats Bogie more as a son and recalls the day when the canine jumped on Gilbert’s bike.

“One day, he just started following me every time I left the house. As soon as I started the engine, he would get excited and jump on the bike,” Reyes said.

Given the time they have had together, it comes as no surprise that Bogie has mastered how to properly hop on to the bike. Reyes started to teach the dog how to ride a motorcycle when Bogie was four months old.

“I think of Bogie as a son. He’s been with me for 11 years and is a big part of my life,” Reyes said.

Even though Bogie looks pretty cool and adorable when he goes out on rides with his master, Reyes reveals that his dog is also a good bodyguard and a reason why his shop over in Cavite province is doing well. Bogie doles out handshakes to customers when given attention.

As a guard dog, there was a time that Bogie foiled a robbery attempt one time. Thieves tried to steal the necklace of Reyes but the Biker Dog chased them off.

With so many adventures and times that Reyes and Bogie have been together, these are precious and treasured memores. It is unusual but something he will forever cherish.

“We’ve had so many adventures and been to many places together, I don’t think I can ever replace him,” Reyes said.
