Britney Spears is accused of making a “humblebrag” on her Instagram page, when she posted a picture of her first pair of Christian Louboutin heels, announcing even the price, and then saying she never worn them. While she might have not intended for that to be perceived as bragging, many of her followers, even her most loyal of fans felt that she was being insensitive.

Spears may just be ranting that she brought a pair of sexy Christian Louboutin heels at a high price and yet never gotten around to wearing them but her millions of followers perceived that she is implying she’s so rich she can afford to drop thousands on a pair of shoes and yet did not have to wear them.

Timing is suspect too for the followers who have seen the post since the shoes were already purchased four years ago. Surely, they think, if the "Toxic" singer valued the shoes, she would have to have worn them at least once or at least be proud of it earlier, not just now.

"Four years ago I bought my first pair of Christian Louboutin snakeskin heels that were 6,000 dollars," she wrote. "PS I’ve never worn them!!!!" Fans thought that naming the exact price was quite tacky and insensitive of her. The shoes look really good, of course, but the caption ruined how people look at them. They could not help but at least remind her how she is projecting herself with this post.

IG user @warmdropsofhoney wrote, “Girl that's not the thing to post nowadays.” Others were blunter. @jlmoreland1106 commented, “Must be nice to flaunt your overindulgence. Meanwhile, we have people who can’t afford their next meal. Here’s an idea, instead of spending that sort of money on nonsense, donate it.:

Other followers did not like the fact that her purchase is tinged with animal cruelty. User @kittyann71commented, “That's is shameful to wear animals killed for vanity and brag about letting them go to waste. So cavalier and dismissive.”

Another said that she could spend that amount of money on her heels but it’s so irresponsible because animals had to suffer to make the shoes. @strawberrysnortheastsaid, “I don't care how much you've spent in It, but please think about animals suffering, for nothing!”

One would think the iconic singer would have taken the post down after all the negative comments, even from fans who were stating their comments in a much calmer way, but she did not. Instead. She continued to update her Instagram with new posts as if she did not care for their opinions.

The singer though does have the money to spend. It was reported that she raked in over $2.5 million for 2018. Her financial portfolio is also composed of different investment accounts, mutual funds, and trusts amounting to a total of $59,079,755.76.
