Brits Prefer Kate Middleton Over Meghan Markle, And Want Meghan To Go Back To US – Poll

According to a recent poll conducted by Tatler, Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, is the more popular royal amongst the Brits when compared to Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex.

The Tatler survey showed that 44% favor Kate to Markle, 11% preferred the latter, and 12% were indecisive and said they didn’t know. The British fashion and lifestyle magazine also reported that approximately 2000 British adults were made to be the part of the survey, with 55% saying that Markle has been a breath of fresh air for the royal family while 45% felt otherwise.

This isn’t the first time Meghan and Kate have been compared. According to the annual YouGov poll, which was published in August, Kate was voted the more popular royal than Meghan for the second time in a row.

The research conducted by YouGov took place in June 2018 and June 2019. It was reported that almost 9000 people were interviewed. 64% of the participants said that they had a positive opinion about Kate while 10% disliked her. On the other hand, only 49% favored Meghan while 16% had a negative notion about her.

Why Is Kate Middleton More Popular Than Meghan Markle?

One reason the Duchess of Cambridge may have taken the cake is because she is a familiar figure to the British population and has been part of the royal family longer than Meghan. William and Kate have been making headlines since they were in college - well over a decade now. Meanwhile, Harry and Meghan are just shy over three years. It doesn't help that Meghan's been very private with her personal life and that she's been subject of negative press.

Kate Middleton has also been taking on more engagements, and has had several outings and outfits that were reminiscent of the late Princess Diana - so it seems like she's always been placed in a positive light. Which isn't such a bad thing, especially if you're preparing to be Queen Consort someday. Also, when you take a look at the royal social media accounts, Kate and William have more followers than Harry and Meghan.

The survey also revealed:

39% were under the opinion that Markle was hypocritical when it came to environmental issues.

23% felt that Harry and Meghan will have a better life in Los Angeles.

40% of the participants believed that the media treats Meghan unfairly and 27% think that racism is the reason why.
