Two NBA teams who have been having a good 2022-23 NBA season collide on Friday, Jan. 6 with the Cleveland Cavaliers visiting the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center.

The Cavaliers are coming off a win over the Phoenix Suns, 90-88, their third win in a row. Before that, they also pulled off a couple of victories against the Chicago Bulls.

In that win over the Suns, Caris LeVert led the way with 21 points and six rebounds. Donovan Mitchell added 20 points of his own as well as nine assists.

But the hero of that game against the Suns was Evan Mobley. After receiving a Mitchell assist, he converted a 14-foot jumper with four seconds left in the game. The 21-year-old was 1-of-8 from the field before sinking that game-winner.

“What people aren't going to talk about is him relocating," Mitchell said of Mobley. "He got into my vision and he was right there in that moment, naturally. That's what makes him special.”

However, extending their winning run will not be easy against a Nuggets quintet. Denver is coming off a rousing win over the Los Angeles Clippers, 122-91.

Jamal Murray led the way for the Nuggets with 18 points and four rebounds while Nikola Jokic finished with 12 points, nine assists and six rebounds.

Five other Denver players scored 10 points or more in that matchup.

The Nuggets are -6 spread favorites compared to the Cavaliers' +6. The Moneyline for this game is -240 for Denver and +190 for Cleveland.

The Cavs rank first in scoring defense thus far and have been fairly efficient, ranking 13th in turnovers per game.

On the other end, the Nuggets are sixth in the NBA in scoring offense but have been less impressive on the defensive end ranking 17th overall in scoring defense and just 20th defending the 3pt shot.

The Nuggets host the Cavaliers on Friday, Jan. 6 with tip-off set for 9:10 p.m. E.T. The game will be televised via NBA League Pass with live streaming available via fuboTV.
