A shoulder injury, whic he suffered in the opening win over the U.S., did not stop James Rodriguez from helping the Colombian national team make it to the quarterfinals of the 2016 Copa América earlier this week.

A match between Colombia and Paraguay at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, Calif. kicked off the second week of the Centenario tournament on Tuesday night, and despite an injury on his left shoulder, Rodriguez played with his team. His fans were clearly excited with his decision, but we can talk about that later.

"I always wanted to play against Paraguay, and when you have that desire, I think everything is easier," Rodriguez said, according to Houston Chronicle. "It's an injury that you have to be careful with."

In fact, the 24-year-old Real Madrid midfielder helped his team move to the next round of the Copa with the two goals he scored in the first 30 minutes of the match. "For the national team, I would play even limping if I have to," Rodriguez assured. "I always want to play for this team, and I am happy here. I want to help."

The Colombian national team is the first team to secure advancement to the knockout stage of the Copa América Centenario.

In celebration, two fans of Colombia could not handle their excitement and rushed to the soccer field to hug the soccer star after the match. A video shows how one of the fans even slipped from security to hug and plant a wet one on Rodriguez.

Her friend, on the other hand, was jumping up and down out of excitement. The two girls were then escorted out by security and allegedly got arrested for their action. Can you blame them?
