Since her split with long-time boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama, Demi Lovato has been flying solo in the relationship department. However, it is now being reported that the Mexican-American singer is ready to get back out there with an unexpected suitor.

According to PerezHilton.com, both Demi Lovato and John Mayer were spotted getting close with one another while hanging out at West Hollywood, California hotspot Catch L.A.

The site reports that while the 24 year-old and the "Gravity" singer arived and left the venue separetely, inside eyewitnesses say they were glued to each other.

An insider tells Us Weekly, that the two stars looked to be very fond of one another. "“John had his arm around Demi and was whispering sweet nothings into her ear,” one person told Us Weekly. “She was into it. They weren't making out or anything, but she was giggling the whole time.”

Anther source tells the site that the singer were talking for "over an hour."

What's interesting about this possible new couple is that Lovato doesn't have the best relationship with Taylor Swift, after calling her out on dissing Katy Perry in the video "Bad Blood." Swift famously dated Mayer and once the relationship fizzled, she wrote a song about him called "Dear John." Perry also happens to be one of Mayer's exes so this situation is a bit sticky.

This pair crossed paths previously in 2009 when they collabprated on "World of Chances"- a song from her second album, "Here We Go Again."

She told MTV News at the time that Mayer had been a “huge influence” on her music and songwriting.

“I guess he had heard I was a huge fan, and he sent me a letter. Then we ended up writing together. And it was really great, because he actually reached out to me, and it was like a dream come true,” she said at the time.
