Teenyboppers rejoice! Demi Lovato announced her official return to "The X-Factor" via Fox news last Thursday. The Latina triple threat will plant her famous tush in a judge seat next to the show's creator, Simon Powell, for the television hit's third season.
Lovato's compassionate and humorous approach to her job at "X-Factor" made her a fan favorite. Well that, and her unapologetic courage to disagree with Simon. Simon, never one to hold back an honest opinion, had some things to say about Lovato in a statement.
"Even though she can be really, really annoying I truly enjoyed working with her and so did the artists. I'm especially pleased she's back, even during her world tour!"
If he thinks Lovato's annoying and still asked her to come back, what must he think of Britney Spears and L.A. Reid? Both Spears and Reid will not be gracing the show with their presence this upcoming season. No word yet on whether Mario Lopez or Khloe Kardashian-Odum will be returning to reprise their roles as M.C.s -- though it's rumored Lopez is in the midst of striking up a deal.
Lovato is the ideal role model and mentor for the show. Aside from coming with a massive built-in fanbase from her Disney days, she is a music success in her own right. Her latest single, "Heart Attack" is currently out for public consumption, and her album DEMI is scheduled to drop on May 15. Not to mention, all this "X-Factor" talk comes on the heels of a world tour.
But the petite powerhouse seems unruffled with the amount of work she's doing and is thrilled about her upcoming sophomoric efforts on "X-Factor."
"I am so excited to return as a judge and mentor on 'The X Factor.' Last season was an unbelievable experience," Lovato said in a statement, "and I really enjoyed developing personal relationships with the contestants and the panel."
On a show like "The X-Factor" the judges are as entertaining as the contestants. It's going to be interesting to see who will be chosen to fill up the third judge seat.
