The long-awaited news to “Demon Slayer” season 2 finally gained some ground. Already confirmed to be in production, fans of the hit anime got some fresh and welcome news though a definite date was not given.

At the “Kimetsu-Sai Online: Anime 2nd Anniversary Festival,” it was announced that season 2 of “Demon Slayer” will come out in 2021. And while there was no actual date specified, a plausible date to expect it would be by the Fall of this year.

Other than that, there were tons of visuals as well as a new teaser video revealed at the “Kimetsu-Sai Online: Anime 2nd Anniversary Festival,” HITC reported. Haruo Sotozaki will return to direct the second season while Akira Matsushima will be back to design the characters. The same cast is also returning, led no less by Katsuyuki Konishi as Tengen Uzui.

After the release of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” manga via the Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in February 2016, the manga ended in May 2020. The 23rd and final compiled book volume were published in December. The manga has overall sold 102.892 million copies as of December 6.

“Demon Slayer” premiered in April 2019 with Aniplex of America licensing the series and streamed via Hulu, Crunchyroll, and FunimationNow.

As for the plot of “Demon Slayer 2,” it is expected to pick up from the “Mugen Train” movie. This was where the first season left off.

For those who were able to watch “Demon Slayer: Infinity Train Arc,” there is reason to be optimistic. The film has broken countless records and has become one of the highest-grossing films of all time in Japan.

Aside from that, it will depend on what “Demon Slayer” season 2 will have to offer. For those who want to come up with their theories, reading up on the manga series could help.

But the Red Light District Arc is likely to be at the center once again. It is one of the best-received arcs of the manga series with Tanjiro and company getting paired with one of the Hashira members. Tengen Azui was featured in the first trailer of the season and will need Tanjiro’s aid to find his missing wives. The Entertainment District arc may also see Tanjiro and Nezuko unlock new powers like the Sound Hashira, teasing more great moments ahead against the villainous duo of villains, Inosuke and Zenitsu.
