“Demon Slayer” has been confirmed to having a second season and the latest update is that the anime is in production. A conservative outlook would be to see it come out in early 2022 but there is a slight chance it come be moved a bit.

A lot of that has to do with the fact that with the “Demon Slayer: Infinity Train Arc” movie. The film has been breaking box office records in Japan, the fourth highest-grossing film for 2020. With that in mind, the success could alter the script with showrunners possibly changing its priorities.

With the success of “Mugen Train,” there was a point raised by YouTuber Kanjic that made a bit of sense. Seeing how the “Demon Slayer” has garnered success, the chances of seeing producers focus on a move over a second season is a possibility. And the reason behind that is revenue generation, something that would pivot the decision of the people behind the anime.

Be reminded that these are only speculations and should be taken with a grain of salt. Rather than delay the second season of “Demon Slayer” a plausible expectation would see showrunners double their efforts and work on the film and the series at the same time.

But then again, there is the pandemic situation to consider. Already dealing with limited resources and the need to raise revenue, the priority angle of seeing a series of “Demon Slayer” films makes sense. Unfortunately, this is something fans would frown upon but will have to live with. In the end, it depends entirely on what the producers decide to do.

Regardless, the only thing known now for “Demon Slayer” season 2 is that it is in production. It is forecasted to come out as early as the Fall of 2021. But a more conservative expectation would be to see it premiere in early 2022.

As mentioned in a previous post, “Demon Slayer” season 2 is expected to pick up from “Mugen Train” which closed out the first season. Aside from that, it remains to be seen what lies ahead for Tanjiro Kamado and his comrades in their fight against monsters who murdered his family.
