Things did not start well for Sean 'Diddy' Combs during his sentencing hearing after a jury convicted him in July on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, which could carry a maximum sentence of 20 years.

"The old me died in jail, and a new version of me was reborn," Combs wrote in a letter sent to Judge Arun Subramanian the night before the sentencing, on Friday October 3. It was not well received, with the magistrate calling it "inappropriate."

The prosecution is seeking at least 11 years in prison, while the defense has argued for a more lenient sentence of 14 months.

Combs, his children, and a pastor are expected to speak to the judge. None of his victims are appearing.
