“Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” is set to hit the big screens on May 6 although there are plenty of questions in mind. And the main one in the heads of many is who will be the bad guy in the upcoming Marvel flick.

This early, three characters come to mind – Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Wanda Maximoff/ Scarlett Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), or Karl Mordo (Chiwetel Ejiofor).

In an interview with Fandango, director Sam Raimi was asked who he considers being the main villain although doing so is a bit complex.

With the multiverse setting, there will be different versions of the said characters. Hence, it could be one of the altered characters mentioned earlier – including Dr. Strange himself.

"So, if I were to say Strange... I'm not really supposed to answer this question, but I might be saying altered Strange. Same with Wanda and Mordo. But I would say, at different times, all of the above," Raimi stated.

But if one looks back to previous installments, including the Disney+ series “Wandavision,” there are things to consider. There are hints that Stranger and Maximoff are at odds, a twist that could be hinting at things to come.

"You break the rules and become the hero. I do it and I become the enemy," Wanda tells Strange. "That doesn't seem fair."

Mordo, of course, is someone who knows that was at odds with Strange as well in the first installment. He had his disagreements with Strange so there is a plot that could see him being the main villain as well.

There is the altered version of Strange which most believe would make sense. The title of the “Doctor Strange” sequel alone should get most guessing. And the answers to that may only be revealed come May 6 when “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” hits theaters.
