A drunk man reportedly killed an 80-year-old neighbor after a heated argument over vehicle parking in Vizag city, Andhra Pradesh, India on Monday, Oct 3.

The accused, identified as V Durga Prasad, who was in an inebriated condition, parked his two-wheeler in front of the 80-year-old victim N Narayana Rao’s house under Fourth Town police station limits of Vizag city on Monday, Oct 3. However, when Prasad parked his two-wheeler, it blocked the vehicle of Rao’s younger son who was about to leave the house, the Times Of India reported.

Rao and his younger son asked Prasad to move the bike from there so that they could go out. However, Prasad reportedly got enraged hearing their demand, and in a fit of rage, attacked and punched Rao and his son.

The elderly man suffered grievous injuries in the attack and died. The deceased's body was sent for an autopsy to ascertain his exact cause of death, Times Now reported.

According to locals, Prasad was an associate of a criminal named Murali. Prasad was an alcoholic who used to consume liquor on a daily basis and engage in heated arguments and fights with others. The locals added that even though they have complained to the police officers against the accused several times, the officers failed to initiate any action against him.

However, following Rao's death, the locals in the locality took the matter into their hands and thrashed the accused before handing him over to the police.

Following the incident, the police arrested Prasad and a case has been registered against him in connection with the incident.
